Disconnecting during a Ranked Match in THE FINALS can affect your teammates, your Rank Score (RS), and your ability to queue for new matches.
This article explains what happens, why penalties exist, and what you should do if you are disconnected.
If your connection is interrupted by a game crash, internet issue, or platform service issue the game will attempt to reserve your place in the match.
THE FINALS has a reconnect window that allows you to rejoin the same match if you get disconnected.
When you disconnect:
Your character becomes inactive and will leave the match
The match continues as normal for all other players
Your spot will not be filled by a new player and your team will be one player short for the duration of the match.
If you are experiencing disconnects,

When disconnected you should always try to reconnect to the match immediately.
If your game crashes, relaunch the game.
After launching the game again:
Stay in the main menu until the "Preloading Shaders" are 100% and done
The game will automatically prompt you to rejoin the ongoing match
Click Reconnect
If the match is still active and the reconnect window has not expired, you will return to the same ongoing match.
If you are unable to rejoin the match before:
the match ends
or
the reconnect timer expires
The match will count as abandoned.
This applies even if the disconnect was accidentally caused by an issue. The system cannot determine why the disconnect happened, only whether the match was completed or not.
Two things can happen:
1. Matchmaking Suspension
You will receive a temporary matchmaking suspension, preventing you from queuing for new matches for a period of time.
This system exists to protect match quality for other players.

2. Rank Score (RS) deduction
Ranked Matches affect your Rank Score (RS), which determines your seasonal league placement.
If a match is abandoned:
The player who leaves may receive a Ranked Score deduction
Your Rank Score (RS) may decrease further based on the match outcome
Even if you disconnected unintentionally, the match still counts as abandoned.
