Game stops loading after EAC splash screen

Last Updated: 2024-10-01

If your game stops loading after EAC splash screen and exits without an error, please try to check if you have any pending Windows updates, including optionals; meaning that you may need to update some of your drivers.

To check if you have any pending updates, please do the following:

  1. Open Settings on your computer
  2. In the left-hand panel, find Windows Update
  3. If you have any mandatory updates, please install them. If the system reports being up to date, click "Check for updates".
  4. If you only have Preview updates, you can choose to install or not install them; they will likely not impact the issue.
  5. Further in the menu, find Advanced Options.
  6. In Additional Options find Optional Updates.
  7. Find pending Driver Updates and download them.

If you've updates your drivers and the problem persists, please contact us with your EAC logs, as well as your crash logs.

For EAC logs, you can find detailed instructions for logs collection on the official EAC support page.

Crash logs can be found in C:\Users\[the name you selected for your user]\AppData\Local\Discovery\Saved\Crashes. Find the folder that was modified most recently. Note that not all crashes will generate logs; if a crash log wasn't generated, please mention this in your message. You may need to enable the option to see hidden files in your File Explorer. To do that, select Options -> View -> "Show hidden files, folders, and drivers".
