Secure Boot (TFAV0016, TFAV0026, this game requires secure boot on capable hardware)

Last Updated: 2024-09-19

What is Secure Boot?

In very simple words, Secure Boot is a launch mode of your computer. If enabled, it provides additional protection against unsigned processes being loaded into your system.

An unsigned process means it wasn’t submitted to Microsoft for safety verification, so Microsoft hasn’t signed it as a safe program. For example, many cheats and malware softwares are unsigned.

Secure Boot is a built-in feature in most modern Windows computers. In most Windows 11 computers, it’s enabled by default. It is not related to kernel-level anti-cheat or any other third-party programs.

Why am I being required to enable Secure Boot?

Because Secure Boot prevents launch of unsigned processes, it is being used as an additional anti-cheat measure to prevent loading of cheat programs.
