Ranked Terminal Attack
Ranked Terminal Attack is where you really get to put your competitive skills to the test as you make your way to the top of the pyramid. Ranked has been updated with season three, thanks to the feedback of our players. Let's get right into how it works!
Ranked Terminal Attack replaces Ranked Tournament. It is similar in many ways, but puts more of a focus on tactics and teamplay!
Starting your ranked progression now begins with 8 placement matches. You will then be ready to climb the ranks and earn fame and fortune in the tournament.
Rules
Rank is reset at the beginning of each season.
Begin by completing 10 placement matches.
Teams play as either attackers or defenders
Attackers: Deliver the decryption key to a terminal and ensure the other team does not interrupt the decryption.
Defenders: Prevent the other team from completing a decryption, either before they insert the key or by interrupting an ongoing decryption.
Teams switch sides between certain rounds.
Gadgets and their charges are only replenished between rounds.
Resapwns at the start of each new round.
The Healing Beam and Defibrillator will be replaced with other equipment.
League progression is enabled.
Leagues
There are six league ranks: bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, and ruby. After your placement matches, you work your way up each ranked league. A new feature for this season is that you can also lose progression and move down in the leagues should you experience a losing streak. Inactivity does not affect your standing in a league, and ranked rewards are based on your highest place - so you will keep any rewards you have earned even if you derank; this does not apply for Ruby, where you must end the season in the top 500.
We’ve switched over to using Ranked Score (RS), which is calculated based by how well you do in matches overall. The amount you earn or lose is determined by: Rounds won/lost in a match, team Rank Score difference, your Rank Score relative to others in the match, and your individual performance.
League rewards
You can unlock permanent rewards by progressing in our leagues. These exclusive rewards include limited-edition cosmetic items to showcase your achievements, and they change with every season.
Rewards are awarded based on your highest achieved league rank. There are six tiers of rewards based on what rank you have achieved during the season.
Matchmaking
Matchmaking in ranked tournaments is based on your rank, but you can play Terminal Attack together with friends if you add them to your party. Matchmaking is then based on the average Ranked Score of the party.
Dropping rank
If you do poorly in matches, your rank can decrease to a lower league. You can always gain your rank back, and any rewards you have unlocked will be yours to keep.
