THE FINALS Fair Play Guidelines

Last Updated: 2024-03-19

Here you will find a breakdown of many of the behaviors and actions that can result in a ban from the game in order to uphold our goal of eliminating cheaters, cheating, and any behavior that gives a player an unfair advantage over other players.

We carefully analyze gameplay logs to identify players who are taking unfair advantage or causing offense to other players through unfair practices.

The following things are examples of behavior that may result in a ban from gameplay:

  • Running a cheat loader, injector, vulnerable/bad drivers, debuggers, disassemblers or any 3rd party software that enables a script/macro that provides an unfair advantage.

  • The use of aimbot, no recoil, aimlock, bots, and any other program designed to reduce the effort and skill required to play the game and win or to intentionally ruin the experience for others.

  • Accounts that increase VRs or skip progression by joining games and idling/going AFK. Any behavior that harms or otherwise makes other players' game experience unpleasant by not participating in the game properly is prohibited.

  • Running a cheat program or bad software parallel with THE FINALS. This includes all 3rd party software and hardware that in any way gives you an unfair advantage or circumvents THE FINALS anti-cheat systems. This includes overlays that alter the gameplay experience beyond what is intended.

  • …anything else that Embark decides adds an unfair advantage to the game.

Cheating is a never-ending battle and as new, nefarious ways to cheat emerge, we will take appropriate action.

How do bans work?

Depending on the severity of the behavior as determined by Embark, the following things may occur:

  • Your account may receive a message that prevents you from playing until you have removed the unallowed program that is running on your computer or console.

  • You may receive a temporary ban that restricts you from gameplay for a number of days. In this time, you should work on removing any software or stopping any behavior that has caused your account to be restricted.

  • Your account will be permanently banned and you will no longer be able to play. This will happen in extreme cases, for accounts who have cheated progression, and for any repeat offenders.

Please note: If you have additional accounts that have been banned for violating any of the above rules, those accounts will also be subject to being banned.

How do Ban Appeals Work?

If you believe you have been falsely banned or you want to know the length and type of your ban, you can contact Player Support at reachthefinals.com/support

Bans will only be lifted when the player can provide reasonable explanation and evidence that the behavior/software violation witnessed or detected was false.

With recent changes, we are confident in our methods around restricting players who show signs of cheating in the game and our dedication will always be to protect the experience of the players who play fair and follow the rules.

Cheating ruins the fun of games for everyone — including those who cheat.

Message Code Explanation:

TFLA0004: Gameplay Restricted This is the message code you will receive when you have been banned from gameplay due to a violation of the code of conduct. This includes bans and restrictions related to cheating and unfair play.

TFAV####: Anti-cheat Gate enabled

If you receive a message code that begins with TFAV followed by four numbers, you have run into one of the many anti-cheat violation gates. These are put in place to reduce the number of bans needed by letting you know that our systems have detected bad software, scripts, macros, or hardware running on your device at the same time as THE FINALS. These gates will prevent you from playing until the software has been terminated.

For TFAV1011, TFAV1012, "Internal anti-cheat integrity check failed", and "EAC is not installed", please refer to the specific articles for these error codes.
