This guide covers everything you need to get started with your Embark ID, from creating and linking your account to managing connected platforms.
The first time you launch THE FINALS, you'll be prompted to create an Embark ID. If you've never played THE FINALS or ARC Raiders, you likely don't have an account yet. When prompted, select Create New Account.
If you've previously played THE FINALS or ARC Raiders, you already have an Embark ID. Linking it to your current platform allows you to take advantage of cross-progression. There are two ways to do this.
In-Game:
When you first launch THE FINALS, you'll be prompted to Create New Account or Link Existing Account.
Select Link Existing Account.
Scan the QR code or click the link.
Choose the platform that's already linked to your Embark ID.
On the Embark ID Platform:
Visit Embark ID.
Log in with the account already connected to your Embark ID.
Click your account name and select Connected Platforms.
Link any additional accounts from here.
Example: If you played THE FINALS or ARC Raiders on PlayStation and now want to link your Steam account, select PlayStation as the platform to sign in with.
Your Embark ID can be linked to one account per platform (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, Discord, and Twitch). If you see the error "The account you are trying to connect to has content saved from an Embark game and cannot be merged at this time," it means the platform you're trying to link is already associated with another Embark ID. You'll need to unlink it from the other Embark ID first.
Visit Embark ID.
Log in with your platform account.
Click your account name and select Connected Platforms.
Here you can see all platforms currently connected to your Embark ID, and choose to link or unlink each one.
There are a couple of restrictions to be aware of when managing your connected platforms:
Your original platform account cannot be unlinked. The first platform account you linked to your Embark ID is permanent and can only be removed by contacting Customer Support.
Once a platform is linked, only that same account can be re-linked to it. If you unlink a platform and try to connect a different account in its place, you'll see the error: "This account cannot be linked. For more information, read this support article." Only Customer Support can remove this restriction.
Note: If multiple platforms are connected, you won't be able to unlink the platform you're currently signed in with. Log in through another platform to unlink it.
You can unlink any connected platform from your Embark ID except for the original one. The first platform account you linked when creating your Embark ID is permanent and can only be removed by contacting Customer Support.
Re-linking the same platform account to a different Embark ID will not transfer your progress, earned rewards, or cosmetics, as those are tied directly to your Embark ID.
Example 1: If you created your Embark ID by linking your PlayStation account, that PlayStation account will always remain linked. You can unlink your Steam or Xbox accounts freely, but the PlayStation account cannot be removed without contacting Customer Support.
Example 2: If you unlink your Steam account and then create a new Embark ID, re-linking that same Steam account to the new Embark ID will not carry over any of your previous progress or cosmetics. Those remain tied to the original Embark ID.
There are a few reasons why you may not be able to unlink a platform account:
It's your original account. The first platform account you linked when creating your Embark ID cannot be unlinked. This can only be removed by contacting Customer Support.
It's the account you're currently signed in with. You cannot unlink the platform you're actively using to log in. Sign in through a different connected platform first, then unlink it.
Your account has been banned. If your Embark account is banned, you will not be able to disconnect any platform accounts.
You recently disconnected an account. There is a 48-hour cooldown between disconnecting one account and connecting another.
For instructions on how to change your display name and find your Embark ID discriminator, see Display Name and Embark ID Discriminator.
If I relink my platform account to a different Embark ID, will I keep my progress and cosmetics? No. Re-linking the same platform account to a different Embark ID will not transfer your progress, earned rewards, or cosmetics, as those are tied directly to your Embark ID.
Why can't I link my platform account? If you see the error "The account you are trying to connect to has content saved from an Embark game and cannot be merged at this time," it means the platform account you're trying to link is already associated with another Embark ID. You must unlink it from the other Embark ID first.
Can I disconnect my Steam account if it's banned? No. If your Steam account has been banned in THE FINALS, it cannot be disconnected from your Embark ID.
How do I delete my Embark account? To request permanent deletion of your Embark ID, please contact our support through the chat on id.embark.games/support. Be aware that account deletion is permanent and will result in the loss of all associated game data and purchases.
