An unsteady connection may lead to big headaches for our players and we understand how frustrating that is. Therefore, we have put together a compilation of procedures that hopefully will solve your problem!

First things first

• Make sure that your Wi-Fi is turned on and that you are connected to a stable network. If necessary, you can go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi to check the status of your connection. Also, make sure that you are connecting to the correct network name (SSID) and inputting the most recent version of its password.
• If you have the option, you can also try a wired connection. This will normally give you a faster and more reliable connection. It is also important to check if your ethernet cables are correctly connected from your router to your computer and vice-versa.
• If you are making use of a VPN or Proxy, try accessing the game after disconnecting from these network options. We only recommend the usage of these tools in situations where they are extremely necessary since they can cause connection issues.

You can check your Windows update status on Settings > Update & Security > Windups Update. Then, click the Check for Updates button. This will also ensure that the latest connectivity fix updates are installed on your computer.

Network Troubleshooter (Windows)

If you can’t seem to find the answer to your connectivity issue, you can make use of this tool to try and find (and even fix) the cause of your problem. Here is how to do it:

1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status
2. Select Advanced network settings. Then, click on Network troubleshooter

After doing so, the troubleshooter tool will require you to select which network you want to check. The process of detecting issues starts after you have chosen a network. After the scan, you will receive a diagnosis and a suggested fix. Depending on the problem, the troubleshooter will be able to fix the problem right away.

Public DNS Server connection

At times, you may not be connected to an ideal DNS server that is related to your internet service provider. Therefore, you can increase connection speed and stability by switching your connection to a public DNS server. You may select the ones offered by Google and Cloudflare, for example.

IP Address renewal

General network connectivity problems can also be solved by renewing your IP address. To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Close every web browser and application that is running on your computer
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type CMD and press enter to open the Command Prompt window.
4. Type ipconfig/release into the Command Prompt and press enter. Wait for a while and many lines will come up in the Command Prompt. This means your current IP address has been released.
5. Type ipconfig/Renew into the Command Prompt and press enter. After a little while, more lines will pop up. This means that your IP address has been renewed.
6. Type ipconfig/flushdns into the Command Prompt to clean out your cache and make your connection even more secure and stable.
7. Restart your computer.

Disable Peer-to-Peer updates

This is a common issue for Windows 10: when players are downloading updates on their computers while playing THE FINALS, the connection quality can drop significantly. To disable Peer-to-Peer updates and prevent this from happening, follow these steps:

1. Open the Start menu and select Settings
2. Then, select Updates & Security
3. Make sure Windows Update is selected in the left-hand side navigation pane (it’s the default when you open Updates &Security) and then select Advanced Options in the main pane.
4. Click Choose how updates are delivered to fully disable peer-to-peer updates

After that, switch the first option to Off.
