Every time you plug into the show, you do so as one of your virtual contestants.
Whether you prefer to grapple onto rooftops, charge straight through walls, or defibrillate your teammates. There are many ways to get ahead of the competition and wreak havoc in the arena.
From the Main Menu, navigate to the Contestants menu.
Select one of your empty contestant slots in the top-left of the screen.
You can create up to eight different contestants, letting you tailor your roster to fit your strategies and appetite for mayhem.
When creating a contestant, the first choice to make is their body build. This represents your contestant’s physical frame and greatly affects their strengths and weaknesses:
Light – Exceptionally fast and agile, but has low health. Great for hit-and-run tactics, and specializes in stealth and evasion.
Medium – A jack-of-all-trades that excels in mid-range combat. Specializes in healing, scanning, and providing support.
Heavy – Built to bring the roof down, literally. Has the highest health of all builds, but slower movement can make it an easy target. Specializes in demolition and fortifications.
In addition to health and speed, your contestant’s body build also determines which specializations, weapons, and gadgets are available.
Your custom loadout contains the equipment you bring into the show: one specialization, one weapon, and three gadgets.
In addition, your reserve holds four extra pieces of equipment. You won’t have these on hand in the arena, but you can swap them into your loadout at specific moments, such as after an elimination or between tournament rounds.
Anything can happen in the arena, so experiment with different combinations of active items and reserves to be ready for anything.

PlayStation 5 | X and Square |
Xbox Series X|S | X and A |
⚠️ Note: More equipment will need to be unlocked using VRs, which you earn by playing.
Each virtual contestant can be assigned one specialization from grappling onto roofs to healing teammates, and from raising fortifications to performing covert reconnaissance.
Note: You can only change a contestant’s specialization from the Contestants menu.
Weapons are your primary way of dealing damage, to enemies and the environment.
You’ll recognize them by their signature sounds: boom!, slam!, or ra-ta-ta!
There’s a wide range of weapons to experiment with. Some fire bullets, others launch rockets or flames, and some just bonk heads with dramatic flair.
Weapons are great, but not much help if you’re eliminated.
Gadgets offer a variety of tools to outsmart your opponents: raise smoke screens, set up ziplines, instantly revive fallen teammates, or reveal hidden ambushes.
