What is the Competitive Register?

The Embark Esports Competitive Register is the official form used to verify team rosters, confirm event results, and award Regional Fame Index (RFI) points. It serves as the source of truth for all RFI point allocations and roster tracking.

The Register is event-specific. Each sanctioned event generates its own set of submissions, creating a verified record of who competed and where they placed.

Purpose

The Competitive Register exists to:

  • Verify team identity and roster composition for each event.
  • Ensure RFI points are awarded to the correct players.
  • Track core roster continuity across events (including new player progression toward core status).
  • Maintain transparent, auditable regional leaderboards.
  • Provide the verified data needed for point redistribution in the event of disqualifications.
  • Prevent misuse or manipulation of the RFI system.

How It Works

The Competitive Register follows a defined process after each sanctioned event:

  1. Event concludes - The tournament organizer identifies all teams eligible for RFI points based on their Main Stage placement.
  2. Organizer distributes the form - The organizer contacts point-eligible teams and provides the Competitive Register form for completion.
  3. Teams complete the form - Each eligible team confirms their roster details, placement, and contact information.
  4. Organizer submits to Embark - The organizer submits all completed forms to Embark as part of their reporting obligations, which must be fulfilled within seventy-two (72) hours of event completion.
  5. Embark verifies and awards points - Embark reviews the submissions, verifies roster eligibility and event results, and publishes updated RFI standings.

Points are not awarded until all required forms are submitted and verified. There are no provisional or interim point allocations.

Who Must Complete the Form

Only teams that are eligible to receive RFI points are required to complete the Competitive Register. This typically includes all teams that reach the Main Stage of a sanctioned event and place within the point-eligible positions (1st through 8th).

  • The form is initiated and distributed by the tournament organizer, not by the teams themselves.
  • Teams will be contacted by the organizer after qualifying for point eligibility.
  • Teams must submit their forms promptly, as delays may result in postponed point allocations and could affect invitations to future events.

What Is Collected

For each event, teams must confirm the following:

Team Information

  • Team name.
  • Declared region (EMEA, AMERICAS, or APAC).
  • Team representative name and contact details.

Roster Details

  • Full names and in-game identifiers of all three (3) starting players who competed in the event.
  • Full name and in-game identifier of the substitute player (if registered for the event).
  • Confirmation of which players are current core roster members and which are non-core (for new player tracking).
  • If a substitute was used during the event, confirmation of which starter they replaced and in which match(es).

Event Details

  • Event name and organizer.
  • Final placement.
  • Confirmation that the team competed in the Main Stage.

This creates a verified snapshot of each team's participation, allowing Embark to accurately allocate RFI points, track core roster progression, and maintain historical records.

Roster Verification

The data collected through the Competitive Register is used to enforce the roster rules defined in the Regional Fame Index document. Key rules that the Register tracks:

  • Core roster (2/3 rule): RFI points are tied to the core roster, defined as at least two (2) of three (3) starting players competing together. If fewer than two core members remain, accumulated points are dissolved.
  • New player core progression: A new player becomes part of the core roster after competing in three (3) RFI-sanctioned events with the team. The Register tracks this progression across events.
  • Substitute usage: Substitutes are not part of the core roster. Substitute usage does not count toward the three-event core threshold unless the substitute permanently replaces a starter.
  • Annual roster lock: After August 31st each year, no roster changes may affect RFI point ownership for the current competitive year. The Register enforces this cut-off.

For full roster rules including core definitions, substitute transitions, and point dissolution, refer to the Roster Rules for Sanctioned Events section in the Regional Fame Index document.

Data Use

Information submitted through the Competitive Register is used solely for:

  • RFI point allocation and leaderboard tracking.
  • Core roster verification and progression tracking.
  • Integrity verification and audit purposes.
  • Public standings and historical records.
  • Point redistribution calculations in the event of disqualifications (as defined in the Regional Fame Index document).

Compliance

Failure to complete or accurately submit the Competitive Register may result in:

  • Delay or withholding of RFI points for the event.
  • Ineligibility for ranking from that event.
  • Disciplinary action under THE FINALS Esports Global Rulebook.

False or misleading submissions - including misrepresenting roster composition, player identities, or event participation - may result in point revocation and competitive sanctions.

Organizer Responsibilities

Tournament organizers are responsible for:

  • Distributing the Competitive Register form to all point-eligible teams after each sanctioned event.
  • Submitting completed forms to Embark within seventy-two (72) hours of event completion, as part of their reporting obligations under the Running Sanctioned Events document.
  • Ensuring teams are given reasonable opportunity to complete the form within the reporting window.

Organizers are not responsible for validating player identities or verifying roster eligibility. The organizer's role is to ensure all eligible teams complete the form and that submissions are forwarded to Embark on time.
