Steam Family Sharing Restrictions

Last Updated: 2026-02-04

To help keep ARC Raiders fair for everyone, we apply limitations to Steam Family Sharing. These rules are in place to prevent abuse of shared licenses and to ensure all Raiders play by the same standards, whether they own the game or access it through Family Sharing.

When ARC Raiders is played through Steam Family Sharing, all accounts using that shared license are linked for enforcement purposes. This means restrictions or bans apply across the entire family group tied to that license.

How Restrictions Work with Steam Family Sharing

  • If any account in a Steam Family receives a ban while using a shared ARC Raiders license, all accounts in that family will receive a restriction.

  • If the license owner receives a ban, they can no longer share ARC Raiders through Steam Family Sharing. Any player accessing the game through sharing will need to be removed from the Steam Family and purchase their own copy to continue playing.

  • Restrictions share the same duration and type across all accounts connected to the same family

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if a Steam Family member gets banned?

If any player using a shared ARC Raiders license is banned, the restriction applies to the entire family, including the owner. The shared copy of the game cannot be used until the ban expires or is lifted.

What if the owner removes the banned member from the Steam Family?

The ban still applies. Removing a family member does not remove the restriction from the owner’s account. If a ban occurs while a shared license is in use, the restriction extends to the license owner as well.

Can a banned owner continue sharing the game?

No. An owner with an active ban can no longer share their ARC Raiders license through Steam Family Sharing.

What happens if the owner is banned and removes a family member from their Steam Family?

If the license owner is banned, the shared ARC Raiders license can no longer be used. A removed family member is free to purchase their own copy of the game, but will need to wait for the existing game ban on their account to expire.

How long do restrictions last?

Ban duration applies equally across all accounts linked through Steam Family Sharing. Once the ban expires or is lifted, access to the shared license is restored unless another restriction is in place.

Why did I or a family member receive a ban?
