If you’re having trouble with voice chat in THE FINALS here are a few things you can check to get it working again.
To be able use Voice Chat in THE FINALS you must consent to Voice Moderation.
Voice Moderation is an online safety tool to prevent harmful behaviour. Once you've consented, Voice Chat will be moderated when turned on. Turning this option off will whitdraw your consent, disable voice chat and stop moderation.
To enable Voice Moderation and Voice Chat:
Windows includes a privacy feature that lets you decide which apps can access your microphone. If voice chat isn’t working, make sure THE FINALS has permission:
Press Windows + I to open Windows Settings.
Select the Privacy & Security tab, then go to Microphone.
Enable Let Desktop Apps to Access Your Microphone and confirm THE FINALS is listed.
Restart the game and check if voice chat works.
Outdated or faulty audio drivers can cause issues with voice chat.
Open the Start Menu and search for Device Manager.
Expand Audio Inputs and Outputs.
Right-click your audio device and select Update Driver.
Do the same for your microphone.
Restart your system and relaunch THE FINALS.
If you have multiple audio devices (like a headset and a webcam mic), THE FINALS may be using the wrong one. To fix this, manually select the correct device:
Go to Settings > Social > Chat > Voice Chat in THE FINALS.
Under Voice Chat Input Device, select your preferred microphone.
This helps prevent cases where the game picks up the wrong mic and causes poor audio quality.
THE FINALS supports both Push-to-Talk, Toggle -to-Talk and Open Mic. If one isn’t working, try switching to one of the others:
Go to Settings > Social > Chat > Voice Chat
Change between Push-to-Talk, Toggle -to-Talk and Open Mic
Sometimes other programs (like Discord or video apps) can “lock” your microphone and prevent THE FINALS from using it.
Press Windows + X and select Task Manager.
Go to the Processes tab.
Close any apps you don’t need that may be using your mic.
Once done, relaunch THE FINALS and try voice chat again.
IPv6 is a newer internet protocol that can occasionally conflict with certain network setups or in-game voice services.

Go to Network and Internet.
Select Network and Sharing Center.
Click on your network connection (next to Connections).
Click Properties.
Find Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and uncheck the box.

Switching to a public DNS can help improve network stability and resolve issues that may prevent voice chat from working correctly.
Open Settings from the Start menu.
Go to Network & Internet.
Select the adapter you wish to configure (e.g., Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
Find DNS server assignment and select Edit.
