Troubleshooting Game Crash & Launch Issues - PC

Last Updated: 2026-02-27

If your PC meets the minimum system requirements but you're still experiencing crashes while playing ARC Raiders, here are some common causes and steps to resolve them.

General Game Crashes

If you're crashing in the main menu or while loading into the game, try the following:

  • Make sure your PC meets the minimum system requirements for ARC Raiders.

  • If you have Raider Voice (Beta) enabled, try turning it off. This feature is currently in beta and may cause crashes for some players.

Outdated Drivers

Outdated or incompatible drivers, especially graphics drivers, are one of the most common causes of crashes in PC games. Check for updates for the following:

  • GPU (graphics card)

  • CPU

  • Motherboard / BIOS

  • Monitor

  • Wi-Fi Adapter / Network Card / Modem

  • Peripherals (mouse, keyboard, etc.)

How to check your graphics card:

  1. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.

  2. Type dxdiag and hit Enter.

  3. Go to the Display tab.

  4. Your graphics card name and manufacturer will be listed there.

How to update your GPU drivers:

Depending on your GPU brand, use one of the following tools to update your drivers:

These tools automatically detect your hardware and provide the latest drivers for your system.

Outdated DirectX

DirectX enables communication between your game and hardware components like the GPU, keyboard, and speakers. If your version of DirectX is outdated, you may experience game crashes, input lag, or audio glitches.

You can install the latest version of DirectX directly from Microsoft: Update DirectX

Outdated Operating System

Running an outdated version of Windows may interfere with game performance and compatibility.

  1. Click the Start button.

  2. Select Settings (gear icon).

  3. Go to Update & Security.

  4. Click Check for Updates.

Make sure to restart your PC after installing any updates.

Verify Your Game Files (Steam)

Corrupted or missing game files can cause crashes. Steam's built-in verification tool will check your installation and replace any problematic files.

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.

  2. Right-click ARC Raiders and select Properties.

  3. Go to the Installed Files tab.

  4. Select Verify integrity of game files.

Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) Issues

ARC Raiders uses Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) to maintain a fair gaming environment. Some crashes may be related to EAC. Below are the most common EAC-related errors and how to resolve them.

Error Code 30005

This error occurs when the EAC service is unable to start the game, usually because an EAC file has been locked by another program, such as antivirus software. Rebooting your PC is the simplest fix. If the issue persists, try adding an antivirus exclusion for the Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS directory.

For full details, visit the EAC Error 30005 support page

EAC Windows Service Issues

If you're having trouble launching ARC Raiders due to an EAC-related error, running the EAC self-repair tool may help. This is an advanced step intended for users comfortable with the Command Prompt.

For full instructions, visit the EAC Windows Service support page.

Maximum Simultaneous Game Instances Reached

This error appears when EAC detects that the game is already running in the background, even if it doesn't appear to be. To fix this:

  1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

  2. Look for the ARC Raiders game process.

  3. If found, right-click it and select End Task, then try launching the game again.

If you can't find the game process in Task Manager, a full system reboot is required to clear the EAC driver state.

For full details, visit the EAC Maximum Simultaneous Instances support page.

System Integrity Violation - ARAV8007

This error occurs when the game detects unexpected changes to its file structure. Deleting and reinstalling the ARC Raiders game folder can help resolve it.

  1. Navigate to your Steam installation folder. By default this is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common

Note: Your Steam folder may be on a different drive depending on your setup.

  1. Open the common folder and delete the ARC Raiders folder.

  2. Reinstall ARC Raiders through Steam.

Still Having Issues?

If you've tried all the above and are still experiencing crashes, you may also want to disable overlays or third-party software.
