Troubleshooting Voice Chat - Console

Last Updated: 2026-02-27

If you're having trouble with voice chat in ARC Raiders, here are a few things you can check to get it working again.

PlayStation

Disable Mute Game Voice Chat (PS5)

A setting in Game Base may mute in-game voice chat by default. To check and change it:

  1. Press the PS button on the middle of your controller and select the Game Base icon.

  2. Press the Options button (three lines on the controller) and select Go to Game Base.

  3. Move right past Friends, Parties, and Messages, and select the two lines with circles on the far right hand side (Game Base Settings).

  4. Select Voice Chat Settings.

  5. The second option listed is "Mute Game Voice Chat." Turn this OFF by sliding the toggle to the left.

  6. Next, go to "Share Your Voice" just below it and select "Allow."

Change to a Public DNS Server

If something is blocking your voice chat connection, switching to a public DNS may help. For instructions, see How to Switch to a Public DNS Server.

Enable UPnP on Your Router (PS5)

Enabling UPnP helps establish an Open NAT type, which can improve connectivity and resolve voice chat issues. For instructions, see How to Enable UPnP on Your Router.

Open Required Network Ports

ARC Raiders' voice chat requires certain network ports to be open to connect properly. Make sure the following ports are open on your router or firewall:

  • TCP: 5222, 443

  • UDP: 5222, 443

For instructions on how to open ports on your router, search online for a guide specific to your router model.

Xbox

Set Your Privacy and Online Safety Settings (Xbox)

Make sure your communication and multiplayer privacy settings allow voice chat:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

  2. Go to Profile & System > Settings > Account.

  3. Select Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Privacy > View Details and Customize > Communication & Multiplayer.

  4. Under You can communicate outside of the Xbox network with voice & text, choose Everybody.

If setting up voice chat for a family member, go to Account, select Family settings > Manage family members, choose the family member, and follow Step 3.

Switch to ARC Raiders Game Chat (Xbox)

If you're currently in an Xbox Party, voice chat will only work through the party and not through ARC Raiders' in-game voice and proximity chat. To switch over:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  2. Navigate to the Parties & Chats panel.

  3. Select your party.

  4. Press the View button on your controller.

  5. Select Switch to game chat.
