If you’re playing on PS5, a setting in Game Base may mute in-game voice chat by default. To check and change it:
Press the PS button on the middle of your controller and select the Game Base icon.
Press the Options button (three lines on the controller) and select Go to Game Base.
Move right past Friends, Parties, and Messages, and select the two lines with circles on the far right hand side (Game Base Settings).
Select Voice Chat Settings.
The second option listed is “Mute Game Voice Chat.” Turn this OFF by sliding the toggle to the left.
Next, go to “Share Your Voice” just below it and select “Allow.”
If you’re on Xbox, make sure your communication and multiplayer privacy settings allow voice chat:
Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.
Go to Profile & System > Settings > Account.
Select Privacy & Online Safety > Xbox Privacy > View Details and Customize > Communication & Multiplayer.
Under "You can communicate outside of the Xbox network with voice & text" choose Everybody.
