Last Updated: 2026-02-27

If you're experiencing sound issues while playing ARC Raiders on console, here are a few things you can check to get your audio working properly again.

Basic Audio Checks

Before diving into further troubleshooting, make sure:

  • Your system volume is turned up

  • Your headphones or speakers are securely connected

  • You've selected the correct audio output device

PlayStation 5

Check Your Audio Output Settings (PS5)

PS5 may sometimes switch to a different audio output device after an update. To make sure the correct device is selected:

  1. Go to Settings > Sound.

  2. Select Audio Output.

  3. Under Output Device, select the device you want to use (headphones, TV speakers, etc.).

  4. Adjust the volume under Settings > Sound > Volume if needed.

Check Your In-Game Audio Settings (PS5)

The game's audio settings may have been changed without you realizing it.

  1. Launch ARC Raiders and go to Settings > Audio.

  2. Under Output Mode, make sure the correct audio output is selected.

  3. Check the volume mixers and ensure nothing is muted or set too low.

Disable 3D Audio (PS5)

PS5's 3D Audio feature can sometimes interfere with in-game audio. Try disabling it to see if it resolves the issue.

  1. Go to Settings > Sound.

  2. Select Audio Output.

  3. Under 3D Audio (Headphones), toggle it off.

Restart Your Console (PS5)

A simple restart can resolve many temporary audio issues.

  1. Press and hold the PS button and select Turn Off PS5.

  2. Wait 30 seconds, then turn your PS5 back on and relaunch ARC Raiders.

Clear Your Console Cache (PS5)

Clearing your console's cache can help resolve persistent audio issues. See How to Clear or Reset Your Device Cache for instructions.

Xbox

Check Your Audio Output Settings (Xbox)

Make sure your Xbox is outputting audio to the correct device.

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  2. Go to Profile & System > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.

  3. Under Headset audio or Speaker audio, select the correct output device.

  4. Adjust the volume levels if needed.

Check Your In-Game Audio Settings (Xbox)

The game's audio settings may have been changed without you realizing it.

  1. Launch ARC Raiders and go to Settings > Audio.

  2. Under Output Mode, make sure the correct audio output is selected.

  3. Check the volume mixers and ensure nothing is muted or set too low.

Disable Dolby Atmos or DTS (Xbox)

Advanced audio formats like Dolby Atmos or DTS can occasionally conflict with in-game audio. Try disabling them to see if it resolves the issue.

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  2. Go to Profile & System > Settings > General > Volume & audio output.

  3. Under Headset format, select Stereo Uncompressed.

Restart Your Console (Xbox)

A simple restart can resolve many temporary audio issues.

  1. Press and hold the Xbox button on your controller and select Restart console.

  2. Once restarted, relaunch ARC Raiders and check if the issue is resolved.
