Shared License Restrictions

Last Updated: 2026-05-12

To help keep ARC Raiders fair for everyone, we apply limitations to shared game licenses on Steam and Xbox. These rules are in place to prevent abuse of shared licenses and to ensure all Raiders play by the same standards, whether they own the game or access it through sharing.

Restrictions work differently depending on the platform. The sections below explain how enforcement applies to Steam Family Sharing and Xbox Game Sharing.

Steam Family Sharing

When ARC Raiders is played through Steam Family Sharing, all accounts using that shared license are linked for enforcement purposes. Restrictions apply across the entire family group tied to that license.

How Restrictions Work

  • If any account in a Steam Family receives a ban while using a shared ARC Raiders license, all accounts in that family will receive a restriction.

  • If the license owner receives a ban, they can no longer share ARC Raiders through Steam Family Sharing. Any player accessing the game through sharing will need to be removed from the Steam Family and purchase their own copy to continue playing.

Xbox Game Sharing

When any player using a shared ARC Raiders license is banned, the restriction applies to their Embark ID and the license is no longer usable by anyone sharing it. Other family members lose access on Xbox and Xbox PC, but their own Embark IDs are not affected and remain usable on other platforms where they own the game.

How Restrictions Work

  • Only the banned player's Embark ID is restricted. Other family members using the shared license can continue playing on Steam or PlayStation if they own the game on those platforms.
  • If a player using the shared license receives a ban, the restriction applies to their Embark ID, and the license can no longer be used by anyone sharing it. Other family members will need to leave the family group and purchase their own copy to continue playing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do restrictions last?

Restrictions remain in place for the full ban duration. Once a ban expires or is lifted, access is restored unless another restriction is in place.

Why did I or a family member receive a ban?
