How to Create, Link, and Manage Your Embark ID

Last Updated: 2025-12-19

To play ARC Raiders, you’ll need an Embark ID, your unique account that connects your progress, purchases, and friends across platforms.

What’s an Embark ID and Why Do I Need One?

Your Embark ID:

  • Saves your progress, purchases, and cosmetics across all Embark games.

  • Enables cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S

  • Allows cross-platform play with friends on any supported system

  • Helps friends find and add you

  • Is required for support requests and account troubleshooting

How to Create an Embark ID?

The first time you launch ARC Raiders, you’ll be prompted to create an Embark ID. If you’ve never played ARC Raiders or THE FINALS, you likely don’t have an account yet. When prompted, select Create New Account.

If you’ve previously played THE FINALS or participated in any ARC Raiders tests, you already have an Embark ID. See How to Link to an Already Existing Embark ID? below.

How to Link to an Already Existing Embark ID?

Linking to an existing Embark ID allows you to take advantage of cross-progression. There are two ways to link to an existing Embark ID.

In-Game:

When you first launch ARC Raiders, you’ll be prompted to Create New Account or Link Existing Account.

  1. Select Link Existing Account

  2. Scan the QR code or click the link.

  3. Choose the platform that’s already linked to your Embark ID to link your new platform account.

Example: If you played ARC Raiders or THE FINALS on PlayStation and now want to link your Steam account, select PlayStation as the platform you sign in with to link Steam.

Your Embark ID can be linked to one account per platform (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, Discord and Twitch).

On the Embark ID Platform:

  1. Visit Embark ID

  2. Log in with the account that is already connected to the Embark ID you want to link to

  3. Click your account name → Connected Platforms

  4. Link any additional accounts here.

Example: If you played ARC Raiders or THE FINALS on PlayStation and now want to link your Steam account, select PlayStation as the platform to sign in with.

If you see the error “The account you are trying to connect to has content saved from an Embark game and cannot be merged at this time,” it means the platform you’re trying to link is already associated with an existing Embark ID. You’ll need to unlink it from that Embark ID first. Before unlinking any account, please read What Happens If I Unlink Everything? below.

Linking/Unlinking & Managing Connected Platforms

Your Embark ID can be linked to one account per platform (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, Discord and Twitch).

How to View Linked Platforms:

  1. Visit Embark ID

  2. Log in with your platform account

  3. Click your account name → Connected Platforms

  4. Here you can see all platforms currently connected to your Embark ID

Linking or Unlinking a Platform

On the Connected Platforms screen, you can choose to link or unlink each platform.

If multiple platforms are connected, you won’t be able to unlink the platform you’re currently signed in with. Please log in through another platform to unlink it.

What Happens If I Unlink Everything?

Unlinking all connected platforms should be avoided, as it will result in losing access to your Embark ID along with all progress and purchases. If you unlink all third-party game accounts, your Embark ID will be permanently deleted.

You will lose:

  • All progress from both ARC Raiders and THE FINALS

  • Purchased and earned cosmetics

Re-linking the same platform account to a different Embark ID will not transfer your progress, earned rewards or cosmetics. If you accidentally unlinked all platforms from your Embark ID, please contact Customer Support for assistance.

How to Find Your Embark ID Discriminator

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an Embark ID to play ARC Raiders?

Yes. To play ARC Raiders, you need an Embark ID.

What do I gain from using an Embark ID?

It’s what keeps your progress, purchases, and cosmetics tied to your Embark account and enables:

  • Cross-progression between Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S
  • Cross-platform play with friends
  • It’s also required for support requests and account troubleshooting.

If I played THE FINALS or ARC Raiders tests, do I already have an Embark ID?

Yes! If you’ve previously played THE FINALS or participated in ARC Raiders tests, you already have an Embark ID.

Can I link multiple platform accounts to one Embark ID?

Yes, but only one account per platform. (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, Discord, Twitch)

If I relink my platform account to a different Embark ID, will I keep my progress and cosmetics?

No. Re-linking the same platform account to a different Embark ID will not transfer your progress, earned rewards, or cosmetics, as those things are linked directly to an Embark ID account.

What happens if I unlink everything?

Don’t do this unless you’re okay losing access. If you unlink all third-party game accounts:

  • Your Embark ID will be permanently deleted
  • You will lose all progress (ARC Raiders + THE FINALS)
  • You will lose purchased and earned cosmetics

Why can’t I link my platform account? (merge/content saved error)

If you see: “The account you are trying to connect to has content saved from an Embark game and cannot be merged at this time,”it means the platform account you’re trying to link is already associated with another Embark ID. You must unlink it from the other Embark ID first.
