Troubleshooting Connection Issues - Console

Last Updated: 2026-02-27

If you're experiencing connection issues while playing ARC Raiders on console, here are a few things you can check to get back online.

Check Your Internet Connection

Before diving into more advanced steps, make sure your console can reach the internet and that other online services are working normally.

PlayStation 5:

  1. Go to Settings > Network.

  2. Under the Connection Status tab, select Test Internet Connection.

Xbox:

  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.

  2. Go to Profile & System > Settings > General > Network Settings.

  3. Select Test network connection.

If the test fails, note which step fails (Internet, PSN/Xbox Live, or NAT) as this can help narrow down the issue.

Restart Your Console & Modem

A simple restart can resolve many temporary connection issues.

  1. Fully power off your console.

  2. Unplug your modem and/or router from the power outlet.

  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  4. Plug your modem and/or router back in and wait for them to fully reconnect.

  5. Turn your console back on and relaunch ARC Raiders.

Use a Wired Connection

Wi-Fi can be affected by interference, distance, or network congestion. Connecting your console directly to your router with an Ethernet cable can significantly improve stability and reduce latency.

Update Your Console System Software

Running outdated system software can cause compatibility and connectivity issues. Make sure both your console and ARC Raiders are fully up to date before trying other steps.

PlayStation 5:

  1. Go to Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings.

  2. Select Update System Software.

Xbox:

  1. Press the Xbox button and go to Profile & System > Settings > System > Updates.

  2. Select Update console if an update is available.

Once updates are complete, restart your console and relaunch ARC Raiders.

Check Your NAT Type

A restricted NAT type can cause matchmaking and connection issues. Aim for NAT Type 1 or 2 on PlayStation, or Open NAT on Xbox. If your NAT is Moderate or Strict, enabling UPnP on your router can help.

PlayStation 5:

  1. Go to Settings > Network.

  2. Under the Connection Status tab, select Test Internet Connection.

  3. Your NAT type will be displayed once the test completes.

Xbox:

  1. Press the Xbox button and go to Profile & System > Settings > General > Network Settings.

  2. Select Test NAT type.

For instructions on enabling UPnP, see How to Enable UPnP on Your Router.

Change to a Public DNS Server

Switching to a public DNS can help improve network stability and resolve connectivity issues. For instructions, see How to Switch to a Public DNS Server.

Sync Your Device Clock

An out-of-sync device clock can sometimes cause connectivity and matchmaking issues. See Syncing Your Device Clock for instructions.

Clear Your Console Cache

Clearing your console's cache can help resolve persistent connection issues. See How to Clear or Reset Your Device Cache for instructions.
